My last day in blue Hawaii - also the name of a rather toxic alcoholic (so i'm told?!) beverage available for sale in the local ABC stores (convenience stores). Tonight I fly out to Montreal for the CADE conference - looking forward to meeting some more like-minded people there.
i did my presentation at this conference (CALICO) on Friday & as I had a live internet connection I opened up my students' blogs & our wiki page & was very pleased to see so much activity going on - & Kazu's new webquest published!
Way to go guys!! :-))
It was wonderful to be able to show some of your hard work over here to people who apprecite all your efforts.
Now to finish preparing for this next presentation at CADE on Wednesday.

hi!

i'm almost green with envy - sounds like you're having a great time (jetting here and there) with the conferences that you will/had attended. sorry if i posted my webquest a day late (saturday)as i had to do some polishing up and fixing up my evaluation section.

i know this is probably a bummer question to ask right now, but is it okay if you take us through the HP assessment during the drop-in session (e.g. how you would like us to produce our HP activities, what references should we use for the written part etc.)? AND also, approximately how many HP activities would you want us to produce and is there any format or structure or whatever that you want us to follow??

sorry about the questions, but i'm finding it a little hard to start up my HP activities without having a clear idea on what i am suppose to do.

thanks for your time debra :)

cheers!

robee - good to hear from you :-)
I'm now in Montreal where the sky is blue(-ish) & sunny (ala Montreal) for the first day since I've been here -but it's still cooler than Brissie at the moment - & today is my presentation here 8-]
Re your Qs to do with HP - I've just posted a reply in the Forum, but a quick one here: go back to the worksheets on the resources page & also go through the tutorials on the HP main page on the web - + the list of tutorials I put in the Wrkshop guide 2.
I'd like you to try at least one activity of each kind of template & make them a coherent sequence - does tht help? something like a sequence of activities for a particular topic or point you'd like to teach - or a unit of work - or a reading/video & Qs or a follow-up or preparation for your Webquest etc. No specific format to follow. Did you manage to find a/some partners to work as a team?
Hope this helps!

hi debra,
thanks for your suggestions - i'll certainly take them on board.

and yes, i managed to form a 'team' - but we like to refer it as a 'support group :) - for this assignment consisting of owen, kazu, kat and sascha. we're having a little problem with coordinating a meeting that is most convenient for everyone, but we are tentatively meeting up next week, friday at uni.

debra, i thought that as a team, we could all create at least 5 Hot Potatoes activities individually, then put them all together under one website. the reason being is that quite a few of us thought it would make it a little easier to do the Website since we can all help each other out. personally, i think it would be great to have so many varied interactive online activities in one website - what do you think?

i hope all went well with your presentation - it must be good to around like-minded people :)

thanks debra - much appreciated :)

cheers!
